Welcome to Desa Damai Cafe 和平村茶室, a hidden gem nestled in the charming Kampung Kemunting of Bintulu, Sarawak. This delightful cafe specializes in offering authentic local cuisine at unbelievably low prices, making it a favorite among both locals and travelers seeking a flavorful yet budget-friendly dining experience. Step inside and embrace the warm, inviting atmosphere that this quaint little eatery provides.

Culinary Delights abound at Desa Damai Cafe, with their signature dish being the renowned Kampua Noodles. Once you take your first bite of these perfectly cooked noodles, you'll understand why they've captured the hearts (and stomachs) of so many. The Kampua noodles are available in various styles – from the classic white to the flavorful black kampua, all served with generous portions of tender meat. As customer Pete Bujang put it, “RM3.00 for Kampua noodle, RM4.00 for fried noodle. The cheapest in Bintulu (and maybe Sarawak also)!”

For those with an adventurous palate, the cafe also offers a range of delightful fried noodles, which are equally tantalizing. Customer feedback reveals that the Kampua Goreng, Mee Goreng Kering, and Mee Goreng Basah have all made quite an impression. Tong Tiung Hock raves about the value, stating, “Cheapest Kampua in the town or maybe the whole Sarawak. RM 2 per plate included with meat.” When it comes to value for money, Desa Damai Cafe truly hits the mark.

The atmosphere here is casual and laid-back, making it the perfect spot to unwind after a long day or to enjoy a cozy supper after dark, as the cafe stays open until late. Imagine enjoying a steaming plate of noodles accompanied by their famous Milo Peng, which customers describe as having just the right level of ‘kaw’ – a local term for richness and thickness. While there may be some room for improvement in environmental cleanliness, the overwhelming consensus is that the food and its prices far outweigh any minor inconveniences.

In a time when rising costs can sometimes put a strain on enjoyment, Desa Damai Cafe remains a beacon of affordability and flavor. Digital G notes, “Famous for its RM2 Kampua, due to the rise of goods price they have increased the price to RM3 but still the cheapest in town.” This commitment to keeping prices low without compromising taste allows many to indulge in delicious traditional dishes without worry.

Whether you're a local seeking late-night cravings or a traveler looking for a hearty meal that won't break the bank, Desa Damai Cafe 和平村茶室 stands tall as one of the most beloved eateries in Bintulu. With its friendly ambience, delectable menu, and pocket-friendly prices, this cafe is truly a must-visit for anyone ready to savor the flavors of Sarawak.

Famous for its Rm2 Kampua (dry noodle), due to the rise of goods price they have increased the price to Rm3 but still the cheapest in town (as on March 2023). Their Milo peng still maintains its extra 'kaw' although price also increased to Rm3. Different type of kampua taste but acceptable. Can also try their stir fry kampua also good.

Not much choice but the kampua is only rm2, Malay stall just by the side of the shop and there is a van parked in front of the shop selling varieties of buns and cake. The owner is a very friendly and kind person. Really nice to meet him and definitely will visit again this shop.
